You do not need a formal RFQ to get a number from Bolton Works. You need enough for us to guess the method, the time on the part, and the deliverable. Incomplete briefs create either padded quotes or painful change orders.
Send this if you have it
- Photos from several angles (include a scale — a ruler or a coin)
- Approximate size and weight
- Material and finish (shiny, translucent, machined, cast, painted)
- CAD or drawings, even if incomplete
- Goal: inspection pass/fail, wear map, mesh, surfaces, or parametric CAD
- Tolerances or the decision the data must support
- Quantity and date you need results
- Whether the part can ship to 58 Connecticut Ave., South Windsor, CT, or must be scanned on-site
What we do with it
We map your goal to a method: structured light, CMM, CT, or a combination; lab vs on-site; mesh vs CAD. That is the same logic described on the contact page and in the FAQ.
